Coast or coastline, defined as the area where the land meets the ocean or as the line that forms the boundary between land and ocean or lake. According to the Territorial Sea Act 2012, any interpretation of the territorial sea in the Continental Shelf Act 1966, the Petroleum Mining Act 1966, and the National Land Code refers to a distance of 3 nautical miles (5.556 km). Therefore, the coastal waters along the distance are under state jurisdiction and regulated by the Lembaga Sumber Air Terengganu (LAUT).
