History of Establishment LAUT

The establishment of LAUT started from the direction of the State Executive Council (MMKN) to the Terengganu Water Supply Department (JBAT) to enact a new Enakmen Sumber Air Terengganu by taking into account the positive elements in the Water Resources Bill (RUUSA).

The 29th State Executive Council (MMKN) in 2019 has agreed to establish the Lembaga Sumber Air Terengganu (LAUT) to manage and develop the state’s water resources.

The Second Meeting of the Third Term of the 14th State Legislative Assembly approved the Terengganu Water Resources Enactment 2020 on 12 August 2020.

The Enakmen Sumber Air (Terengganu) 2020 (ESAT 2020) was gazetted on 1 December 2020. Along with the gazetting of ESAT 2020, LAUT started operating on 01 December 2020.
